3 Days Tsavo West Tour in Kenya Itinerary
Day 1: Mombasa – Tsavo West National Park
You will be picked up for the 3 day Tsavo west tour by our Mombasa safari rep. This will be from your beach hotel in Mombasa at 7.00 a.m. This will be followed by a briefing on the 3 Days Tsavo West tour. Your Kenya beach holiday safari will then depart via an air-conditioned shuttle service to through Voi.
On arrival at the park gate you are met by your guide and vehicle. You will drive to Severin Safari Camp in Tsavo West National Park with a game drive on route. Upon arrival, you will be met by a well prepared and tasty lunch menu. Check in to your camp and relax in the lounge area.
From here you will enjoy spectacular views of wildlife at the waterhole just 100 meters away. Complete the day one on Tsavo west safari with game drive at 1600hrs. You will then return to camp for dinner and overnight at Severin Safari Camp.
About Tsavo West National Park
Tsavo West National Park covers approximately 30 per cent of Kenya’s park area, and contains a diversity of habitats, wildlife and a mountainous scenic landscape.
The park is a vast expanse of savanna stretching from Mtito Andei, along the Mombasa-Nairobi road and south to the Tanzanian border.
The north-eastern boundary along the highway adjoins Tsavo East National Park, but Tsavo West has a more varied topography and a more diverse array of habitats than its neighbour.
The park’s habitats include open plains alternating with savannah bush and semi desert scrub, acacia woodlands; rocky ridges and outcrops and more extensive ranges and isolated hills; belts of riverine vegetation; palm thickets and on the Chyulu hills, mountain forest.
Day 2: Full Day Tsavo West Safari Game Drive
Your 3 day Tsavo west tour will start with an early wake up call. This will be in time for a morning game drive at 0630hrs. Major things to do in Kenya at Tsavo West National Park include a tour to the Mzima Springs.
The spring is replenished with two hundred and twenty million liters of crystal-clear water every day. This is from the underground streams stemming from the lava massif known as the Chyulu Hills, 40-50 kilometers away. Mzima forms a haven for a rich wildlife pageant with elephant soaking half immersed in the waters. You will see the light footed but ponderous looking hippo.
This is apparently weightless, tip-toeing across the bottom of the springs. There are also crocodiles basking on the bank or swirling through the water. Other big game includes gazelles, zebra and giraffe wandering around the banks. This is through the thick acacias and raffia palms. Here expect to see hundreds of chattering monkeys and birds. Day 3 Tsavo West National Park – Mombasa
Your last day on Tsavo west tour starts with an early morning game drive in the Park. You will return to camp for breakfast. This will be followed by a check out from Severin Safari Camp.
You will enjoy a game drive en route as you head to catch the air-conditioned shuttle service. Enjoy your drive back to Mombasa where you will be dropped-off at your Mombasa beach hotel before lunch.
