11 Day Tanzania Honeymoon Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania
You will be met on arrival at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam. Our safari rep will brief you on this Tanzania honeymoon safari. This will be followed by a 45 minutes air transfer to the Selous Game Reserve.
The Selous is one of Africa’s greatest game reserves. The park supports a wide variety of African wildlife. They include elephant, lion, leopard, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, crocodile and many antelope. You will be met upon arrival into the Selous and enjoy game driven to Azura Selous Camp. You will stay for three nights in a tented suite.
Days 2 – 4: Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania
Full days on the Tanzania honeymoon safari will be spent in Selous Game Reserve. This is home to many big game and bird species. The famous Rufiji River flows through the park. The terrain varies from riverine forest, flood plains with oxbow lagoons, to low mopane forest.
You have all your meals, house drinks and game viewing activities included. This camp is really special with a plunge pool in every villa. Here you can relax under the Africa sun observing the antics of resident hippos in the nearby river. It also boasts fantastic spa treatments which are perfect for indulging between activities.
The general day at Azura begins with a morning game activity followed by breakfast. You will have some time to relax at camp and enjoy a delicious lunch. You will have time to read or cool off in the main pool or private plunge pool.
This is before you embark on an afternoon activity of your choice. This can be another game drive or river cruise, walking safari or fishing. Dinner is served in a variety of locations and often in a new place every evening.
Days 4: Paje, Zanzibar
You will wake up to an early breakfast before embarking on a final game drive. This is before being flown by light aircraft to Zanzibar, which will take about an hour. On arrival onto Zanzibar, you will be met and transferred privately by road to Kisiwa.
This is on the Beach where you will spend the next seven nights in a starehe luxury villa. Your Tanzania honeymoon safari in Zanzibar has breakfast and dinner included.
Days 5 – 10: Paje, Zanzibar
Full days on Tanzania honeymoon safari will be in Kisiwa in Zanzibar. Kisiwa on the Beach is an all villa resort located near the village of Paje. Kisiwa offers guests the chance to relax in villas that have sea views. It is nestled amongst tropical gardens and white powdery beaches.
You can choose how you want to spend your days in Zanzibar. There is something for everyone here in Zanzibar. You can want to put your feet up and relax or head out and explore Zanzibar. This is from Stone Town or the monkeys in Jozani Forest. You can go to the spa to all the various water activities they have on offer.
Day 11 : Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam
You will wake up to your morning breakfast in Kisiwa. Spend the rest of the morning at leisure. This afternoon you will be driven to Zanzibar airport for your flight back to Dar es Salaam. Here your arrangements and wonderful African honeymoon in Tanzania comes to an end.
