On this Namibia Botswana vacation you will experience exciting moments. You will experience Etosha National Park and Caprivian culture. You will visit the Mahango Game Reserve, Caprivi and Okavango Delta.

Namibia Botswana Vacation Itinerary
Day 1: Windhoek – Okaukuejo, Etosha National Park
An early starts for you will be necessary on day one of Namibia Botswana vacation. Our Namibia safari rep will be at your hotel at 0700hrs. You will be briefed on this Namibia Botswana vacation. This will be followed by departure to Etosha National Park. It will be a long drive today.
Otjiwarongo is a must stop to fill up with petrol and provisions. A picnic lunch is going to be served along the way. You will proceed and arrive at Okaukuejo in the evening. There will be enough time to explore the surroundings. You may opt to take the pressure off you at the swimming pool.
In the evening you will embark on a game drive. Return to your lodge in time for dinner. A visit to the floodlit waterhole after dinner is strongly recommended. This is because there is a good chance of seeing rhinos and lions come to drink.
Day 2: Okaukuejo – Namutoni, Etosha National Park
Today we will spend most of the day game driving. We will visit a number of waterholes to see wildlife. Another stop will be at the Etosha Pan, the “place of dry water”. The Pan is an extensive flat depression of about 5,000 km2. It is a place of shimmering mirages and seeing large herds of game.
You will stop at Halali middle camp to have lunch. You will then proceed with game drive en-route to Namutoni. We have time to relax at the swimming pool at Namutoni. You may also stop at the waterhole before a late afternoon game drive. The game viewing is usually excellent here.
Expect to see springboks, zebras, impalas, giraffes, gemsboks and plenty of birds. With luck you may see elephants and lions. You will return to the camp for sunset at tower of the old German fort before dinner.
Day 3: Namutoni – Rundu
The day on Namibia Botswana vacation starts with an early morning game drive. You will have a chance to get some more pictures of Etosha’s wildlife. You will then depart the park through the eastern gate.
Your drive continues to Rundu. This town is located in the southwestern corner of the Kavango region. This part of the country is mostly inhabited by the Okavango people. Your dinner and overnight will be at Hakusembe River Lodge.
Day 4: Rundu – Mahango
This will be a really long drive on Namibia Botswana vacation. An early start is therefore recommended. Today’s drive takes you to the Mahango Game Reserve. You will first drive northeast towards Rundu and then eastwards along the Okavango River.
The park is situated in the northeastern Kavango Region. It borders on western Caprivi and Botswana. The park is characterized by riverine forests and a broad flood plain. There are magnificent baobabs and large herds of elephant and red lechwe.
The Mahango is one of Namibia’s most diverse and interesting conservation areas. The Mahango Game Reserve is home to buffalo, sable and roan antelope. You will also get Chobe bushbuck, reedbuck, tsessebe and sitatunga. Your dinner and overnight will be at Mahangu River Lodge.
Day 5: Mahango – Western Okavango
This is a very interesting Namibia Botswana vacation day. Today’s destination is the unbelievable Okavango Delta. You will cross the border into Botswana. The drive continues southwards through small villages and towns. Be mindful of goats and cattle you will be meeting on the road.
You will arrive at Guma Lagoon Camp Lodge in the early afternoon. You will change vehicles to 4-wheel drive during the last part. This is in order to make it through the sand. Relax with a drink on the deck at the lagoon. Do not forget to keep a lookout for a crocodile or two.
Day 6: Western Okavango
you will begin your Namibia Botswana vacation day with a pressure free breakfast. You will take mokoros to one of the other islands for another nature walk. This is done while the day is still cool. You will then move back through the delta to the “mainland”.
Here, shower, bar and whatever other luxuries we missed on the island, await you. Your dinner and overnight will be at Guma Lagoon Camp Lodge.
Day 7: Western Okavango – Kwando, Namibia
Today your Namibia Botswana vacation leaves Botswana and return to Namibia. The drive goes northwards back to the Mahango Game Reserve. You will have time for a short game drive. This is to try and spot so animals you missed the last time here. Your drive continues eastwards through the Caprivi.
There will be stops to acquaint you with the local cultures. You will proceed to the banks of Kwando River. Dinner and overnight will be at Namushasha Lodge.
Day 8: Kwando – Chobe, Botswana
Today your Namibia Botswana vacation drives back to Botswana. Your Namibia Botswana vacation leaves to Katima to top up the supplies. You will then continue over the border to Botswana.
The destination will be Chobe National Park. In the late afternoon you’ll take a boat ride on the river. Chobe is famous for the large numbers of buffalos and elephants.
You may also see hippos and crocodiles. You might also catch sight of lions. This is at the water’s edge and the bird life is rich here. Your dinner and overnight will be at Kubu Safari Lodge.
Day 9: Chobe National Park
The Chobe National Park is the second largest park in Botswana. It covers more than 10,000 km2. It has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent.
Chobe offers the Namibia Botswana vacation experience of a lifetime. It is particularly well known for large numbers of elephants. They are said to be the largest in body size of all living elephants.
You will spend the time before lunch on a game drive in the park. Like the boat tour yesterday it may turn out to be one of the highlights of your safari. The afternoon and evening may be spent at leisure.
You can relax at the pool side or enjoy another boat tour. This extra boat ride will be at cost. Dinner and overnight will be at Kubu Safari Lodge.
Day 10: Chobe – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
The last day of your Namibia Botswana vacation takes us to Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls is 60km away from the border. You will check into Rainbow Hotel upon arrival.
After that the guides will take you to the Victoria Falls. The best time to see the falls is early morning or just before sunset. You will later go return to the hotel for the evening’s farewell dinner at a restaurant. You are booked at Rainbow Hotel on bed and breakfast.
Day 11: Victoria Falls
Today marks the end of your Namibia Botswana vacation. The guide will take you to the airport in the morning. Those travelling back to Windhoek will leave with the guide.
