5 Days Luxury Gorilla Trek Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: KAMPALA – BWINDI FOREST NATIONAL PARK
You will be met by our Uganda safari rep at your luxury hotel in Kampala. You will get some time for a briefing on the luxury gorilla trek Uganda safari. Enjoy a transfer to Entebbe in time for the 1245 flight to Kihihi. You will be met on arrival at the airstrip by our guide.
You will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at your Bwindi luxury accommodation in time for late lunch. Afternoon will be spent exploring the local villages. This will include a visit to the Batwaa people. They are also referred to as the pigmies. Return to Buhoma Lodge in time for dinner and overnight.
About Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Patches of mist are often seen rolling through the verdant valleys of rich afro-montane forest in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bordering the DRC and in the south-west corner of the country, some parts of the park extend over 2,600m above sea-level, and showcase impressive clashes between afro-montane forest and plains forest.
Bwindi’s vine-covered, fern-rich canopies create a haven for the critically-endangered mountain gorilla. It is also one of three places in the world where visitors can track these magnificent primates.
Thanks to a diverse ecosystem with over 1,000 different types of flowering plants, 310 butterflies, 350 birds, and 120 mammal species, the park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Colobus monkeys and chimpanzees can be seen swinging between tree branches, disturbing turacos and hornbills en route.
Although Bwindi’s star attraction is undoubtedly gorilla tracking, visitors can also go bird-watching, mountain-biking, hiking, or visit nearby villages.
Day 2: BWINDI FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Start your luxury gorilla trek Uganda safari with an early breakfast. You will then head to the park offices to get briefed and at 8:00am. Embark on the Uganda gorilla trek along the designated trails. Gorilla trekking might take up to 6 hours depending on the gorilla’s movement.

Day 3: BWINDI – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
The luxury gorilla trek Uganda safari day starts with an early breakfast. This will be followed by a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive goes through Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Here you will spend some time searching for tree climbing lions. After lunch you will proceed to north to Katungulu town. You will arrive in time for an evening game drive in Queen Elizabeth. Proceed to Mweya Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
About Queen Elizabeth National Park
With an area coverage of 1978 square kilometers, Queen Elizabeth national park is the second biggest national park in Uganda. This park lies between lakes Edward and George which form part of the biosphere.
This park is a system of contiguous protected areas namely, kyambura wildlife reserve, kigezi wildlife reserve and kalinzu wildlife reserve. With this diverse eco system the park supports up to 95 mammals, 612 birds and over fifty seven vegetation types have also been identified in this park.
The park also Huber’s crater lakes, the kazinga channel, the ishasha sector, kasenyi fishing village, the equator and many other tourism features that you may come across while on a game drive or a guided walk. Maramagambo forest is yet another reserve that is under this park and is a home to giant rock pythons and bat caves that make this area so attractive.
A visit to this Queen Elizabeth National Park will lead you to activities like wildlife game drives, the boat cruise on the kazinga channel, the chimpanzee tracking in both kyambura and kalenzu wildlife reserves, salt mining in katwe, forest walks in both maramagambo and around the peninsula area, lion experience, bird watching and many more as these all depand on the time you have while in this park.
Day 4: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Start your luxury gorilla trek Uganda safari with early breakfast. This is before you undertake a game drive in the Kasenyi tracks and the Queen’s Mile. This is in the open savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You have the opportunity to explore a range of wild game here.
They include the cape Buffaloes, Leopards, Topi, Elephants, Kobs, Waterbucks and Warthogs. You also have the Hyena, lions, side stripped jackals among other wildlife. There is also an abundance of bird species since Queen Elizabeth National Park. Return to your luxury accommodation in Queen Elizabeth.
After relaxation and lunch, you will head to the Mweya Jetty. You will have an afternoon 2-hour boat cruise running along the Kazinga channel. The channel stretches from Lake George to Lake Edward covering 45km distance. This cruise offers you an opportunity to see wildlife at close range.
The cruise also offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. From the boat you will head to your accommodation place. Dinner and overnight will be at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 5: QUEEN ELIZABETH – KAMPALA
Start your day with an early game drive in Queen Elizabeth. Return to your lodge for a leisurely breakfast. This is to be followed by a transfer to Kasese. Upon arrival, you will be checked into the 1455hrs flight to Entebbe. Our driver will be at hand to receive you at 1555hrs and transfer you to Kampala. Drop off at your Kampala hotel.
