About the Honeymoon Safari in Africa
You will enjoy a thrilling Big-5 safari in the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya. The park is famous for its predators and game viewing on vast open plains.
You will then fly to the lemur island of Madagascar an island on the Indian ocean. Here your honeymoon safari in Africa will let you relax on Anjajavy. You will enjoy the spectacular turquoise Indian Ocean beach.
You also have the opportunity to see dancing lemurs, tsingys and other unusual wildlife. All park fees, local flights, transfers and guide are in the cost of the honeymoon safari in Africa. So are all your accommodation and game drives in the parks.
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve
You will be met upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This will be by our Kenya safari rep who will brief you on this honeymoon safari in Africa. This will be followed by a transfer to Wilson Airport. You will be in time for your flight to the Masai Mara national reserve.
Masai Mara Gamel Park is famous for its exceptional population of game. It is also known for the annual wildebeest migration that carries with itself of zebras. This is the largest single movement of big game across international borders. The animals move between Masai Mara Game Reserve and the adjoining Serengeti National Park.
The great wildebeest migration occurs every year from July to October. During this period, the animals move from Serengeti to Masai Mara crossing the Mara River. In late October to early November, the animals make their way to Serengeti.
You will be met upon arrival at the airstrip and be transferred to the Keekorok lodge. You will check into your lodge for lunch and an afternoon rest on African honeymoon safari. This will be followed by a late afternoon game drive in this magnificent wildlife sanctuary. You will later return to your Masai Mara safari lodge in time for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 and 3: Masai Mara National Reserve
Your honeymoon safari in Africa days are dedicated to game viewing. This will be done on the open plains of the Masai Mara. This world famous wildlife safari in Kenya is nestled within the enormous Great Rift Valley.
Masai Mara National Park is famous for its many prides of lions. You will also find packs of hyena and other predators as well as huge herds of wildebeest. This at times will number over one million, especially during the migration.
All the Big Five can be seen here, as well as numerous other species. They include the Thomson’s gazelle, topi, kongoni, impala, roan antelope and hippo. The nocturnal bat-eared fox, rarely found elsewhere in Kenya, also inhabits this park.
Bird watching in Masai Mara is also excellent with over 450 different species. They include the vulture, marabou stork, secretary bird, hornbill, crowned crane and ostrich. Also available is the long-crested eagle and African pygmy-falcon.
Your days on honeymoon safari in Africa in Masai Mara will start early each morning. This will be started off by early morning game viewing. This is when conditions are at their best, to view the abundant wildlife of the Masai Mara region.
Return to the lodge to rest in the heat of the day and lunch. You will set off again in the late afternoon for another game drive. All your meals dinner and overnight will be at Keekorok lodge.
Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi
The final days of your honeymoon safari in Africa in Masai Mara starts early. This is with a final early morning game drive. This will be followed by a transfer to the airstrip after breakfast and check out. You will be in time for your flight to Nairobi.
Our driver guide will be at hand to meet you at the Wilson Airport. You will be transferred to Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi where you are booked on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 5: Nairobi – Antananarivo in Madagascar
You will wake up to your breakfast and a transfer to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This is in time for your onward flight to Madagascar. You will be met at Antananarivo Airport and transferred to your hotel in Antananarivo.
You will have night one on honeymoon safari in Africa in one of the tropical islands of Madagascar. Check into your hotel and relax in your warm friendly surroundings.
Day 6: Antananarivo – Anjajavy
Your African honeymoon safari in Madagascar will begin with the morning breakfast. This will be followed by a transfer to Antananarivo Airport. You will be in time for your light aircraft flight to Anjajavy.
On arrival you will check into your hotel on this beautiful peninsula. Here you will relax in your tropical surroundings on the turquoise shores of the warm Indian Ocean.
Day 7 and 10: Anjajavy
You will spend the days on honeymoon safari in Africa at leisure. Here you will relax on the outstanding beaches of Anjajavy on the North West coast. Here you can enjoy catamaran rides and snorkel in warm turquoise waters. You can also kayak on the sea or among the mangroves, windsurf and paddle-surf.
Anjanjavy is a paradise for nature lovers especially those on African honeymoon safari. Anjajavy offers wonderful trails into the forest to explore its unique flora and fauna. Here you can see the cute white and chocolate brown Coquerel’s Sifaka dancing across the ground.
There is an interesting limestone tsingy with bat caves. Other wildlife includes bird watching and nocturnal forest walks. You can also visit the local village. There is optional boat cruises, water skiing and deep sea game fishing are also available.
Day 11: Departure
The last day of your honeymoon safari in Africa will start with breakfast. This will be followed by a transfer to Antananarivo Airport for your flight home.
