4 Day Budget Gorilla Trekking Safari Itinerary
Day 1: KAMPALA – LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
our Uganda safari rep will come meet you at your Hotel in Kampala. You will be briefed on this budget gorilla trekking Uganda safari. This will be followed by departure driving south West.
Your destination on day one of the budget gorilla trekking safari is Lake Mburo. You will stop at the Equator for some photo moments. Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park.

About Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo measures an area of 260 square kilometers (160 square miles). The park also has approximately 313 different species of birds. They including Uganda’s national emblem, the crested crane.
Lake Mburo National Park is known as the ‘Home for Zebras’. The park’s well-developed acacia woodland harbors many wildlife species.
It is the best place in the country to see the gigantic eland antelope. Here you will also find topi, impala and several acacia-associated birds. It is the only park in Uganda to contain impala and the only one in the rift region to host Burchell’s zebra and eland.
Day 2: LAKE MBURO – BWINDI IMPENETRABLE RAIN FOREST
You will start your day with an early breakfast. The Uganda gorilla trekking safari will then embark on a game drive. You will be searching for the animals you were not able to see the previous day.
This will be followed by departure to Bwindi Forest National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch. An afternoon rest will not do any harm to you.
An evening walk to the Batwaa Village will help you understand them. Return back to Buhoma Community Bandas in time for dinner and overnight.
About Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated in the southwestern part of Uganda. It is a renowned for mountain gorilla tracking. Over 500 of the surviving world mountain gorilla population are found in this forest.
Bwindi forest National Park covers a total land expanse of 331 sq km. It supports an assortment of jumbled vegetation, steep landscape and high slippery valleys. There are drought ridges and thick forest with under growth vegetation.
People on this Uganda safari holiday in this park are recommended to carry warm clothing. You also need to have strong hiking boots. This is good for the cold temperatures between in June and July and. They will also to enable you move along the slippery paths.
The Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park experiences 2 rain seasons. The short rains are received starting in September up to November. The long rains are received starting in March up to May.
Day 3: MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING
Start your budget gorilla trekking Uganda safari day with an early breakfast. Proceed to the Bwindi Forest National Park HQ for the morning briefing.
Accompanied by an armed ranger and a guide, embark on gorilla trekking in Bwindi. This may last the entire day depending on the movement and location of the gorillas.
The trek goes through the rain-forest and bamboo covered slopes. The walking can sometimes be tough and long. It is rewarding when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback. Any discomforts will be forgotten.
When the gorillas are sighted, visitors will be guided to within 7 meters from the gorillas. You will sit around them for a whole hour while gazing into their big round eyes.
Gorilla trekking is unpredictable. It’s difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike. The gorilla excursion can take from 2 up to 8 hours. Expect to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions.
This can sometimes be accompanied with rain overhead. A good physical condition is recommended. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour.
Return back to at Buhoma Community Bandas in time for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: BWINDI – KAMPALA
