Detailed 5 Days Uganda Safari Tour Itinerary
Day 1: KAMPALA – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Our Uganda safari rep will be at hand to pick you up after breakfast. You will receive a briefing on the 5 days Uganda safari tour before departure.
Drive through Kampala City driving west to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your 5 days Uganda safari tour will be following the mystical Ruwenzori Mountain Range. Get to stop at the equator for a photo shoot. This will be followed by a stop in Mbarara where you will enjoy your lunch.
Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival check in at your Queen Elizabeth safari lodge. After a short rest, the 5 days Uganda safari tour embarks on an evening game drive.
You will be looking for lions, elephants, baboons among other wildlife. You will return back to Mweya Safari Lodge in time for dinner and overnight.
About Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda is bounded by the Ishasha River and Lake Edward to the west. This is along DR Congo boarder. There is Kasese and Rwenzori foothills to the north and to the east by Lake George.
Kyambura gorge and Kalinzu and the Kigezi Wildlife Reserve to the south. Much as QENP is known for open savanna, in some areas studded with a dense cover of acacia and euphoria trees.
The park embraces large area of thick swamps around Lake George. This includes the extensive Maramagambo Forest in the southeast. This is also in the forested Kyambura Gorge along the border with the Kyambura Game Reserve.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is endowed with at least ten crater lakes. This includes accessible cluster right north of the main road to Mweya safari lodge.
It is the same as the whole Ugandan shore of Lake Edward. The western and northern shores of Lake George is great. The connecting Kazinga channel has a lot to offer to any tourist. It is one of Uganda`s Eco tourism destinations. what a life time memorable site it is!
Day 2: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
The 5 days Uganda safari tour will wake up to an early breakfast before embarking on a game drive. This will be 3 hours of intense game drive. On this day you will be out to see most of the savannah wildlife that you could not see earlier. You will return back to your lodge for a short rest and lunch.
You will then be transferred to the jetty for the afternoon boat cruise. This is a boat ride on the Kazinga channel where you will enjoy a game drive on the boat on your 5 days Uganda safari tour. On return, enjoy a short drive to Mweya Safari Lodge in time for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: QENP – KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Your 5 days Uganda safari tour will breakfast at 0800hrs to Kibale Forest National Park. This drive takes you through the countryside. Enjoy the view of the Ruwenzori Mountain from a distance.
You will arrive in Kibale Forest in time for lunch. After a short rest, enjoy some nature at the Bigodi Swamp. The area is known to be rich in bird life. You will return to Primate Lodge in time for dinner and overnight.
About Kibale National Park
The forest contains one of the most attractive and varied areas of tropical forest in Uganda. It is home to a mass of forest wildlife, including 13 species of primate. Kibale’s northern tip is the highest point in the park which stands 1590m above sea level.
Northern Kibale is also the wettest area. It receives an average annual rainfall of up 1700mm. This is during March to May and September to November.
Southern Kibale adjoins Queen Elizabeth National Park. Together these protected areas maintain a 180km migration corridor for wildlife. This extends from Ishasha, the remote southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It goes to the Sebitoli Forest in the north.
This region is one of Uganda’s most rewarding areas to explore. The park lies close to the tranquil Ndali-Kasenda Crater area. It is within half a day’s drive of the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Rwenzori Mountains and the Semliki National Park. Kibale’s varied altitude supports many different types of habitat. This ranges from wet tropical forest, dry tropical forest, to woodland. There is also savanna on the rift valley floor.
Day 4: KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Wake up to an early breakfast at your lodge. With picnic lunch boxes in your bags head to the park headquarters. At 0730 hrs you will be in time for chimpanzee tracking briefing. In groups, you will enjoy the morning chimp track. You will be accompanied by an armed ranger and a guide.
While tracking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park, be looking for other primates. They include red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others.
If you finish early and with energy, you can have a tour of the crater lakes. In case you are tired after the walk, then it’s time to rest. You will have your dinner and sleep at the Primate Lodge.
Day 5: KIBALE FOREST – KAMPALA
Enjoy an early breakfast before you check pout of your Kibale Forest Accommodation. You will drive out of the forest and head to Kampala. You will arrive in the early afternoon. On arrival you will be dropped off at your hotel in Kampala.
