Mara Sopa Lodge is located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills. Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first African safari lodge in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. This is a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature, a good place to rest while on a 3 day Masai mara safari.

All the buildings follow the design of traditional African round houses. They come with conical roofs, and these stretch along the line of the hills. This Masai Mara safari lodge has impressively large public area buildings. It comes with a swimming pool at their centre.

Accommodation at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge

Masai mara sopa lodge has fifty guest cottages. They are divided into two wings to either side of the main public areas. Each of these cottages house two spacious guest rooms with queen and king size beds. In the rooms are mosquito nets; electronic safes; dressing tables and en-suite bathrooms.

The rooms have sheltered verandas with views over the gardens and the game reserve beyond. Six of the cottages at the Masai mara hotel contain two suites. The suites come with larger bedrooms and bathrooms. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating areas.

In addition to all of the above, the honeymoon suite has an extremely large bedroom. This luxuriously appointed bedroom comes with a king size bed. There is a dressing table and indoor seating area.

Its lavishly appointed bathroom contains both a shower and a sunken bath. The sheltered veranda offers among the most magnificent views over the African landscapes below.

Dining and Wining at the Masai Mara safari Lodge

The Jumbo Bar has a warm ambience with its free form, cowrie shell and bead embedded counter. The bar is manned by entertaining barmen. It has as back-lit alcoholic offerings and overly comfortable bar chairs. These make it the perfect place to share an evening with family or friends both before and after dinner.

The Swimming Pool Bar beneath the dining room is sheltered by an overhead garden. It also has an extremely entertaining barman who will provide you with your every need. Below the swimming pool is the Ol Murrani Bar. This is a stand-alone structure with an adjacent open air camp fire area.

The bar itself has an incredibly warm ambience, a sports-dedicated television and a pool table. It also has a huge outdoor, timber deck from where you can view Hyenas, Mongooses and Honey badgers.

This is done at night when they come to feast on the meat Mara Sopa Lodge put out for them every night.

Like the lounge, the circular dining room has a centrally located fireplace with extremely high chimney. The generously sized buffet tables offer garden fresh salads. You will get succulent main courses and live cooking areas. There is an extravagant choice of desserts and a wide selection of cheeses.

The dining room at Mara Sopa Lodge also has an outdoor timber deck. This is for those who would wish to enjoy your meal beneath umbrella-shaded tables.

It is here that Mara sopa lodge provides guests with an Africa night food extravaganza. This happens every other evening when they incorporate the best of traditional African food. This is fused with whatever he thinks best in order to fully satisfy your appetite.
