Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
With breakfast out of the way and you out of your room take a walk into the reception. Here, you get to meet our Kenya safari rep who briefs you on the 3 day Samburu safari. Let’s get into the safari van and its time to see the world. Drive North of Nairobi past the tall city business buildings into the residential areas and the city suburbs.
As you leave the concrete jungle you enter into the coffee farms of the central highlands. Hills and valleys, you go as you eyes caress the scenery that leaves you to desire more of what Kenya offers. At the Equator, a deserving break will be necessary as you get the opportunity for some memorable photo moments. The Equator goes through only 13 countries in the world and Kenya is one of them.
Proceed with the drive as you admire the beautiful curves of Mt. Kenya that is the second highest mountain in Africa. The next stop will be in Isiolo where we will be taking care of your gastronomical needs with a sumptuous lunch. Proceed to Archers Post, as you are treated to the scenes of beautiful Samburu men and women clad in yellow, blue, white and sometimes red attires.

About Samburu National Reserve
Samburu National Reserve is one of the lesser-known national parks in Kenya, but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. The reserve is rich in wildlife with an abundance of rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the beisa oryx (also referred to as Samburu Special Five).
The reserve is also home to elephants and large predators such as the lion, leopard and cheetah. Kamunyak the miracle lioness that adopted the baby oryx was as a resident in the reserve. Wild dog sightings are also a common attraction to this unique protected area. Birdlife is abundant with over 450 species recorded.
Day 2: Samburu National Reserve
This will be a full day spent in Samburu national park. Start the day with an early breakfast at your Samburu safari lodge before following your instincts into the bush. This will be followed by departure with lunch box for a full day of game drive. Samburu National Reserve lies in the Northern part of Kenya.
Count Telekis Companion Von Holnel, visited the area in the early 1860s. He described it as teeming with game especially buffalos and rhinos. The Waso Nyiro became renowned early this century as “big game country.” The area attracted such famous hunters as Arthur Neumann who set up a camp on the site where Samburu Lodge now stands.
Samburu National Reserve is one of the 56 protected areas in Kenya. Located north of the equator, it is famous because of the richness of flora and fauna. There are over 50 species of wild animals in the reserve. They include unique species of Gravy Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Greater and Lesser Kudu. You will also find the long necked Gerenuk, Somali ostrich, pancake tortoise and many others. There are also over 450 species of birds identified and aquatic species in the Waso Nyiro River. Day 3: Departure
This will be your last day on this 3 day Kenya safari to Samburu National Reserve. The day will begin with and early breakfast that will be preceded by checkout and departure. You will enjoy a short game drive as you leave the park. Proceed on a scenic drive as you contemplate on what you have seen to Nairobi to arrive in the afternoon.
